UPS x Awake NY x NYFW
UPS is committed to helping small businesses from underserved communities to level the playing field. The brand wanted to make an appearance at the Fall ’22 New York Fashion Week and support the Latinx community.
When it comes to various careers in fashion — from the models, designers, photographers, directors, hair stylists, make-up artists, models, set designers etc they’re all small businesses.
Hispanic people represent 18% of the of the U.S. population. Despite that, they only represent 4% of the Business of Fashion 500.
So what did we do at NYFW? UPS worked with Angelo Baque — Founder and Creative Director of Awake NY to create its second-limited edition clothing line. And we created the first ever fashion bodega — La Bodega Baque in the heart of Soho during NYFW. Everything inside of the bodega was from a Latinx small business, the photographer, director and models from our photoshoot and teaser purchases from the UPS x Awake NY collaboration went to a $50,000 scholarship fund for a Latinx student from the High School of Fashion Industries in NYC.

Street Cred: UPS returned to NYFW: The Shows with a creative partnership with famed Latinx creative Angelo Baque, Founder of and former Supreme Brand Director. Together they joined forces to create a clothing collection and an immersive customer experience across New York City during New York Fashion Week. “I wanted to bring intention to this partnership and design with UPS – highlighting our mutual dedication to empowering and unifying current and future Latinx small business. UPS x Something in the Water festival When it comes to small businesses, emerging artists and flowers they have a lot in commmon. With the proper care, nourishment and support they can all blossom and bloom to become amazing things. UPS partnered with Something in the Water to highlight four Black-owned D.C. small businesses to highlight them at the festival.
